BUT you cannot as there is an error. In SharePoint&#8217;s Library ribbon, you can if you&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Click Library -&gt; Open with Explorer<\/p>\n<p><strong>And it hangs your computer for about 1-2 minutes \u2013 arriving with an error box<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8220;Your client does not support opening this list with Windows Explorer&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/elbsolutions.com\/projects\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/sharepointerror.png\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1761 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/elbsolutions.com\/projects\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/sharepointerror.png\" width=\"487\" height=\"176\" srcset=\"https:\/\/elbsolutions.com\/projects\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/sharepointerror.png 487w, https:\/\/elbsolutions.com\/projects\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/sharepointerror-300x108.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 487px) 100vw, 487px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Root Cause: The webclient services is not running and (in my case) COULD NOT start. Do this &#8230;<br \/>\n<\/strong><!--more--><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Is not started \u2013 as it is set to manual (but there is more- keep reading)<\/li>\n<li>If you set it to automatic \u2013 great \u2013 but you can\u2019t start it \u2013 why?\n<ol>\n<li>That is caused by a <a href=\"https:\/\/social.technet.microsoft.com\/Forums\/windows\/en-US\/bf03d090-50a4-4034-8a13-1de577583dfe\/cant-start-webclient-service?forum=w7itprogeneral\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">windows permission error on this directory<\/a> c:\\Windows\\ServiceProfiles\\LocalService\\<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>SOLUTION:<\/strong> So once<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the permissions is fixed and<\/li>\n<li>that allowed the service WebClient to start<\/li>\n<li>that service WebClient is set to \u201cAutomatic\u201d \u2013 most are \u201cManual\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Voila \u2013 everything works.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I applied this to a machine for MY-COMPUTER-NAME\\users and to full control and it works \u2013 not sure what user\/group should be applied but that is one common sense group that was used to solve the issue.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lets say you have a SharePoint Library and want to open in in Explorer to a whack of files by copying them in rather than through the web interface.
