There are many other uses I have in my head, but this is the start.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/\u25fehttp:\/\/lezhang.net\/2013\/11\/12\/how-to-debugrun-navisworks-2013-api-programs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">In .net &#8211; getting started<\/a> I am hoping to do it from Excel (goto xyz coordinate) via VBA\u00a0&#8211; but lets see how far we get<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/media.johnwiley.com.au\/product_data\/excerpt\/13\/11182817\/1118281713-215.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ooohh &#8211; here is a nice &#8220;Getting started&#8221; pdf on learning about Navisworks and automation<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/beyonddesign.typepad.com\/posts\/2012\/05\/keyboard-shortcuts-for-autodesk-navisworks.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Quick Keys<\/a><\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<li>Ahhh poppycock this is not straightforward\u00a0&#8211; <del>just use AutoIT or AutoHotKey key stroking tool<\/del>\u00a0&#8230; but wait &#8230; <a href=\"http:\/\/elbsolutions.com\/projects\/navisworks-com-api-a-little-old-and-really-cantakerous-but-i-finally-i-can-find-an-object-by-name\/\">OK!!!!! I figured it out &#8230; read here<\/a>\u00a0(this link added once i got time and a significant amount of research later! &#8211; told you it was not straightforward.).\n<ul>\n<li>The other issue with the AutoIT hotkey is there is a certain sequence of filling in the boxes and auto-triggers the tool to do what we do. The school of hard knocks. Currently, I\u00a0open up AutoCAD models and extract this info &#8211; but Navisworks &#8211; we have only one file to open &#8211; the large Navisworks file &#8211; which ironically comes from the same models we have been opening. The hard part will be learning how to unpack a Navisworks path.
